If you want to see God, come completely disarmed. This means – If you want to see God, drop all your pride and surrender yourself to God. Surrender yourself completely to God.

Realization of your Reality means your experiencing that Nirguna (formless) , formless , eternal , permanent , deathless principle which is permeating the whole universe , and which dominates the Maya – which is your own Being , the Absolute Brahman , the Nature of Paramatman ! If you achieve that, then Maya has to be servant of your feet! This is not tolerated by her. It is her insult. Therefore she forestalls you and hinders your progress, creates many pitfalls and impediments in the form of calamities. Therefore he is the really good and loyal disciple of his Guru, who even in these difficulties does not forget the words of the Sadhguru and does not leave his daily routine spiritual study and meditation etc. The force, the strength of conviction then subdues the Maya and the flag of the victory of self-knowledge flourishes brilliantly.

There is no God beyond self-knowledge, and beyond self-knowledge, there is no other Guru or disciple. Make self-knowledge your Guru and worship it. If you want to tell about your happiness or sorrow, you should tell it to this Guru. You should increase this habit gradually . This will result in the increase of the light of knowledge inside you, and you will automatically know rightly what action you should take in future. First of all, the main thing to be done is that the concept that we are only body, or an individual, should be destroyed. Then naturally the feeling that we are vast unlimited, immeasurable, will grow. When the concept of being a single individual disappears, then there is automatically the all pervading vastness. Then that man walks in freedom without the bondage of any karma or duty or Dharma. You may be having mastery over many arts and many types of Philosophies or you may be having various occult powers, but when you project any idea about your future or your destiny, you will naturally take your mind as the base , and your mind will identify itself with pride of the physical body . But the wonderful thing is if you do not accept that identification, that very mind will not think or imagine. What is its profit or its loss? One who has firm conviction about the truth of the word of Sadhguru, has no consideration of loss or profit . He has not to go anywhere or come from anywhere. Not only this he has no birth or death, merit or sin, all related to the Physical body. This is the factual state of the mind, of the Masters, or saints. The mind is given to assume the pride about body, suddenly at any time, and at any place, the mind will not be able generally to imagine higher or lower without the body as reference. Actually, pure Reality is quite different than the mind. But when we use mind, the purity of the Atman is spoiled. So long as the mind is thinking the terms of physical body, when appreciating the nature of Knowledge, the real happiness and peace will not be attained.

Question – “How to make the right effort, the sadhana?”
Answer – There is nothing to do , for Sadhana . There is only realizing, recognizing. By doing that, let the attention go deeper and higher. Here discernment, discrimination and choice are involved. If these are not there you will not be able to know yourself exactly. So, consider that Viveka or the quality of discrimination is the Sadhana . You will not be able to do anything else. There is nothing to do, for spiritual life. You have only to be aware.
