Regardless of whatever condition one’s worldly life may be in, if one practices the spiritual path (Paramarth) while remaining within it, happiness, peace, contentment, prosperity, joy, and ultimately liberation (Moksha) are attained naturally and with ease. For living such a fulfilled, assured, and meaningful life, there is no other means or path apart from Paramarth.
Some say that Ramrajya existed in the past, while others believe it is to be established in the future. The saints, however, assert with absolute certainty that Ramrajya is neither in the past nor in the future it is possible here and now, in the present moment.
The true nature of Rama is the Self in the form of Sat–Chit–Ananda, the Atmaram. He abides as the indwelling God in the heart of every individual. To live one’s life in constant remembrance of Him is to live in Ramrajya.
Forgetting one’s own true Self, the Atman, means being trapped in the ocean of ignorance in the form of Maya and leading a selfish life. In essence, two tendencies rooted in selfishness—the tendency to accumulate and the tendency to compete—give rise to mutual conflict.
As long as a person’s disposition remains selfish, the suffering, fear, anxiety, hatred, despair, and mental stress in life cannot be completely eradicated. For selfishness to diminish, excessive attachment and love for one’s own body must weaken. For this to happen, love for the indwelling Atman must increase.
For such love to grow, constant awareness of the Atman must be maintained. When this awareness arises and a living sense of His presence becomes firmly established within the heart, base selfishness dissolves effortlessly. A state of life lived in such constant remembrance of the Atmaram is called Paramarth true spiritual living.
One who lives a life imbued with Paramarth continually experiences sorrow free happiness, worry-free fearlessness, and selfless love. The realization that the same Supreme Power governing the universe dwells within one’s own being that it is one’s true nature, indeed that I am That arises solely through Paramarth.
However, when Paramarth is practiced regularly and with discipline in the company of a Sadguru and in accordance with his spiritual guidance, Self-realization occurs very swiftly. The uninterrupted flow of Self-contemplation, sustained through continuous remembrance of the Divine Name, is the very life force of the seeker’s path.
Those seekers who safeguard the communion with the indwelling Atman their own true Self beyond even the vital breath, who do not succumb to attachment or selfishness, and who completely transform the mind into the state of Unmani (the transcendental, thought-free state), attain Sayujya Mukti (ultimate union) through the grace of the Sadguru and reach the final destination.
Thereafter, there remains no possibility of deviation or downfall from one’s true nature in their life. Hence, such beings are rightfully adorned with the title of Saint or Sadguru.
